Deadlines

  • November 6 – Early Bird registration

  • November 13 – Abstract submission, Session schedules

  • November 8 – Hotel reservation

  • November 20 – Online registration

Registration
There are fixed costs associated with each participant, therefore all organizers and speakers must register and pay the registration fees. Speakers should register at the lowest rate applicable, i.e. Postdocs can register in the “postdocs” category and speakers (including AMS members) as “speakers”.

Abstract Submission
All abstracts are submitted online. The submission form displays a preview of how the abstract will appear on the web and in print. If necessary, abstracts can be edited before the final submission. If an abstract needs to be changed or adjusted after submission, a new abstract has to be submitted, which will replace the previous version. Before posting abstracts to the website, we verify them manually to ensure that the form has not been misused. Posting usually takes place within 48 hours. If a valid email address is entered in the form, an automated confirmation will be sent by email.

Session Schedules
Session schedules are created by the organizers. If there are any time constraints for your presentation, please contact your session organizer well before the schedule deadline. Talks are scheduled in 30-minute intervals, with 25 minutes for the talk and for questions, and 5 minutes for transition to the next speaker.

Audio-Visual Equipment
Session rooms are equipped with a data projector, a screen and a white board. Speakers are asked to use their own laptops or borrow one from a fellow speaker. Overhead projectors will be ordered as required; please contact your session organizer if you require an overhead projector for your presentation. MacBook users need to bring their VGA cable adaptors.
The plenary room is equipped with two data projectors, two screens, one overhead projector, a computer, a lapel microphone and a podium microphone.

Call for Speakers

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) invites you to submit an abstract to participate in one of the planned sessions at the 2023 CMS Winter Meeting which will take place December 1-4, 2023.

The Canadian Mathematical Society has created an open abstract submission process to support session organizers in their important work and in their efforts towards inclusivity and diversity. We encourage applications from members who identify as part of traditionally under-represented groups, including, but not limited to: Women, Indigenous Peoples, Persons with Disabilities, Members of Visible Minorities and/or Racialized Groups, and members of the LGBTQ+ Community. The CMS also welcomes applications from Graduate Students.

Applicants must submit their abstracts for approval to the session organizers  using our abstract submission form no later than September 30, 2023. Please submit your abstract to only one session.

The CMS encourages organizers review submitted abstracts on an ongoing basis and to accept all eligible speakers. Successful applicants must register for the meeting and submit their abstract to the CMS website by Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
