Join us for an unforgettable evening in Wanuskewin Heritage Park. CMS has chosen to host this year's banquet on a Provincial Heritage Property to offer a glimpse into the local indigenous culture, preservation, and celebration. The story of Wanuskewin is about the restoration of grasslands, the return of the bison, and the resurgence of Indigenous Plains culture.

Join us at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, located in the beautiful city of Saskatoon, and marvel at the breathtaking views of the opimihaw Valley. The word Wanuskewin, derived from the nēhiyawēwin (Plains Cree) language, roughly translates to 'seeking peace of mind.' It has been a sacred site and a gathering place for over 6,400 years. This cultural landmark is a testament to the people's sacred relationship with the land and boasts Canada's longest-running archaeological dig. It is also one of Canada's proposed UNESCO World Heritage Sites, making it a must-see for visitors.
Experience the CMS Banquet Reception in Wanuskewin's Visitor Centre, where you can explore their newly expanded Interpretive Centre. This includes interactive exhibits, art galleries, videos, and presentation spaces that celebrate Northern Plains Indigenous cultures. During the reception, you will be entertained by a traditional dance presentation that includes a powwow-style dancer and a First Nations singer/drummer. A delicious dinner will also be served in the brand-new facility in the Deer/Eagle Room.
Worried about transportation? Don't be! CMS will provide shuttle transportation from the University of Saskatchewan Arts building to the Heritage Park. If driving in, you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the bison grazing in the plains.
Indulge in a local Saskatoon-centered meal! Your delicious dinner comes with Bison Blend Coffee, a unique partnership with Road Coffee Co’s environmentally sustainable, more than fair trade coffee, blended for Wanuskewin and Heartland Boreal Forest Tea.
